****Spoiler**** The True Submission

For those of you who haven't finished 1984, considering probably no one reads the blog, but on the off chance someone does let me say that 1984 was an excellent book that requires patience, but is worthwhile and truly awe-inspiring. I have finished it and it has been about two months and finally I have began to forget the feeling of euphoria I felt as I got closer and closer to the end. So what does happen at the end? Well for anyone who has not finished the book. DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER.I am truly spoiling the entire book so if you do not wish to lose the slightly disappointing ending the book has do not read the next few sentences. Winston.... dies. Sadly but it wasn't the fact that he died that bother me or perhaps a few othrs it is the fact that he died forced to submit to the evils of big brother forced to be a perfect party member so that in the end the cycle can continue. He was not a martyr nor a rebel. The most disappointing things about the character Winston was his shortcomings and how varied they were. He will never be the hero or rebel I wanted him to be. Julia will never marry him like she wanted. Oceania will continue to be the land of big brothers. And in the infamous words of Winston....Down With Big Brother....Down With Big Brother.
